The Suicide Boys

Inspiration

The idea for this one came from a couple of places, one I can explain, one I can't really.

The final form of the idea was inspired by a prompt for the December Write Anything Creative Carnival (you can read the story here). But the kernel of the idea struck me whilst crossing the Strand, listening to an episode of Scott Sigler's new podcast, Nocturnal. Which has nothing to do with the idea. So, long way of saying I have no real idea where this idea came from!

The book

With nothing left to live for, a young man decides to end his life. His suicide attempt is interrupted by a stranger. The stranger is not there to save him, but has a proposition. If the young man is serious about ending it all, then he can help and make his death useful.

The young man is intrigued by the prospect - an almost certain death, with a purpose. But there is one caveat. On the offchance that he should survive, his life as he knows it must end...

Current status

I really like this idea, so it will probably leapfrog ahead of Half a Day Hence and will be next up after The Long Watch.
